Tension and Focus
Photography has always been a stressful endeavor for me—however now it’s really now turned into a tool. Going out to shoot photos is overwhelming. My body tenses up, my eyes dart around, and then suddenly, I spot a scene I want to capture. I press my eye to the viewfinder, and I hover my index finder over the shutter release. I become engulfed in a wave of peace, a moment of serenity within the chaos.
I’ve always imagined myself inside that viewfinder, like a person watching a movie in a dark theater. In that instant, I’m safe, observing the real world through my lens. I’ve always been anxious in social environments, often wishing I could get rid of it entirely. Now, I’ve started to see it as a kind of blessing, something that lets me disconnect from the noise and view the world from a third-person perspective. It’s an asset to my photography, helping me capture the scenes and moments I’m instinctively drawn to.
My name is Liam Lawless, I'm a photographer from Miami FL. I shoot landscapes, architecture, and candid moments on film due to its colors and depth that it gives to images. Photography has been my greatest tool to encapsulate the images and thoughts that I see and feel and has transformed them into real images.
